We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Assistant Accountant who has a logical and analytical approach to their duties with previous accounting experience working within a busy Finance Department.

Working as the Assistant Accountant you will be required to support the financial operations of the company by performing a range of accounting duties and supporting the Finance Manager

As the Assistant Accountant you will need intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office / 365, MS Word and Advanced MS Excel skills with the ability to work to a high level of accuracy within a busy finance team.

DUTIES

Your duties as an Assistant Accountant will include:

  • Purchase Ledger management, including posting invoices, and processing them for payment
  • Register Overdue Accounts
  • Set up new suppliers on Coins
  • Sales invoicing
  • Employee expense processing
  • Cashbook entries
  • Enter financial transactions into internal databases
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
  • Bank account reconciliations
  • Constant contact with the suppliers to review the statements
  • Present data as and when required
  • Assist with internal & external audit
  • Scan and file various documents
  • Ensure that all documents are appropriately organised
  • CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

    This position is ideal for an Accounting Technician studying towards their AAT qualifications or a Part-Qualified Accountant. The company will also consider candidates who have commercial experience working within an Accounting / Finance Team looking to progress their career.

    Other skills and experience include:

  • Intermediate (minimum) skill level in Microsoft Office, Word and Advanced Excel
  • National 5 (N5) / GCSE’s Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Previous accounting experience
  • Knowledge of SAGE X3 is essential
  • Team working skills
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver results to a defined deadline
  • Logical and analytical
