An opportunity has arisen in the East Sector Estates Department for a suitably experienced Estates Officer/Authorised Person.

Reporting directly to the Estate Manager East, you will be part of a team responsible for the day-to-day operational management of a discreet multi-disciplinary team ensuring all electrical engineering, maintenance and allocated developments, including contract work is carried out to the appropriate standards and specifications in compliance with all Policies, Procedures, Legislation and Health and Safety requirements within budget restraints.

You will provide leadership and operational management to Supervisors, Technicians, maintenance staff and specialist contract staff carrying out all aspects of maintenance activities.

Based at University Hospital Crosshouse, you will also cover all community based properties within the East Sector.

Educated to degree level in an electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent with in-depth experience and a broad range of knowledge in the management of specialist systems within a hospital environment (eg. Fire Detection Systems, Lifts, Generators, LV/HV systems) is essential.

Working towards professional qualification (eg. Membership of an appropriate recognised Chartered Institute (eg. CIEng, IMechE, IHEEM) with evidence of continuing professional development would also be an advantage.

You should be able to demonstrate versatility and experience on the management of a range of complex electrical engineering maintenance work in addition to being an effective communicator.

You will also be required to take part in an on call rota, and be able to work at other hospitals within Ayrshire to meet the demands of the service.


A driving license is essential for this post.

Hours: 37.5 per week (8.00am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 1.30pm Friday)
