To work as part of a small, dynamic team to ensure safe, efficient and compliant day-to-day operational management of ScottishPower Renewables’ (SPR) wind farm portfolio by acting as the responsible Field Supervisor for a designated number of sites within the SPR portfolio and pro-actively managing, co-ordinating and closing-out local issues directly and via sub-contractors where present. 

What you’ll be doing

Ensuring site activities and safety risks across allocated site are effectively performed and executed in accordance with applicable SPR management System requirement system and applicable OSHAS 18001 Safety Management System while also ensuring site activities and Environmental risks across allocated sites in accordance with SPRs ISO14001 Environmental Management System.

Carrying out thorough WTG and Infrastructure safety/technical inspections and audits for allocated sites and produce associated records/checklist/reports detailing issues and programmes to close-out and Co-ordinate response and close-out of issues identified during routine WTG/Infrastructure inspections.

Direct Active Supervision of sub-contractors to ensure that site activities are performed in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner and to the required technical standard and ensure general statutory/regulatory compliance across allocated sites (H&S, Environmental, Planning related).

You will assume responsibility for pre-commencement assessment of all work tasks being undertaken on allocated sites in accordance with the SPR Work Control Management Instruction

We will look to you to carry out wind Turbine Inspections and local fault re-setting in accordance with the Wind Turbine Safety Rules and provide 24hr call-out/response for allocated sites, in the event of site emergencies.

What you’ll bring

You will have sound knowledge of electro-mechanical generating plant and apparatus with practical experience of working under the Company Safety Rules or equivalent ‘rule based’ systems 
In addition, Lynemouth Windfarm also has the exciting solar technology being introduced in 2023 therefore solar experience preferred

You will have the ability to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing working environment and demonstrate a positive approach to change with a high degree of self motivation with a flexible approach to work

Previous Windfarm technician/supervision experience desirable as well as familiarity with SCADA systems

A key requirement of this role will be a key member of the emergency response team, as such this would mean being on call for emergency situations and we are looking for candidates who can attend the location within a 60 minute timeframe from call out.
