PR Manager (12 month FTC starting mid-March)

Connells Group is the UK’s largest and most successful estate agency and property services group. We are seeking an experienced PR Manager to join our small but busy team for a 12 month period from mid-March .
Supporting the Group PR Partner, candidates should ideally have 4+ years’ PR experience, with knowledge of the property industry beneficial. You will assist in creating and implementing the national and corporate public relations strategy and key skills including media relations, issues management and stakeholder management.
The role requires someone who is reactive, able to adapt quickly in a busy press office environment, and juggle priorities and tight deadlines. Candidates will also need to have excellent written and verbal communication, and be able to build and maintain relationships with key journalists in order to maximise opportunities for the Group.

Duties and responsibilities:
Manage the day to day running of the press office function with assistance from the Group PR Executive
Develop and implement corporate PR strategy, incorporating national, corporate, online and regional media and taking into account all areas of the Group
Oversee corporate social media activity in line with the wider corporate strategy
Work closely with stakeholders across the core Group business and subsidiaries to ensure all external messaging is aligned
Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, particularly within the property trade media to achieve a regular flow of positive press opportunities
Write, edit and proof read press releases and other copy for a variety of media, including market commentary and financial results
Manage and update content on corporate websites
Manage external PR agency relationships
Assist with drafting and submitting award submissions
Assist with maintaining corporate charity partnership, including promoting fundraising efforts and opportunities
Experience & Skills:
Excellent knowledge of UK media landscape
Experience in dealing with crisis scenarios and managing brand reputation within a corporate/B2B PR desirable
Experience working for large, multi-brand company (spread across several sectors) beneficial
Ideally educated to degree level
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
