Connect Appointments has an exciting opportunity for a Welder in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire!
Our client offers a comprehensive range of refurbishment, maintenance, and overhaul and repair services to the rail sector. They have expertise ranging from passenger trains to specialist infrastructure vehicles. As Welder, your responsibilities will include:
Welding – both coded 135 MAG semi-automatic welding to BS EN 287 standards and MIG welding
Aluminium, stainless steel, and steel welding on a variety of materials from 2mm to 25mm, including corrosion work on train body panels
Use of hand tools, buffing, and grinding panels in preparation for welding
Individual specification welds – brackets, structural beam work, joints, and sole bars
Infrastructure designing and building on specific projects
CSWIP – welding inspection
Working as a part of a team, completing the necessary paperwork, and work instructions
The ideal Welder will:
Ideally come from an engineering/commercial environment with experience on rail vehicles
Be time served with the relevant qualifications from accredited bodies
Have good attention to detail – will be able to identify issues and find ways to rectify them
Salary: £34,746 per annum plus overtime
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:30am – 4:30pm. Friday 7:30am – 1;30pm
